Returns are processed weekly, typically Fridays or Saturdays. At this time, our team will check in your return and, once approved, your refund will be issued. Please note, however, that your bank may take several days to process the payment back into your account. You will receive an email notifcation once the refund has been processed.

Yes. You can place an order as a guest with no obligation to create an account. We do recommend that you create an account, however, if you’d like to check your order history and have your shopping basket items and payment details saved for next time. It’s quick and easy to create an account.

Please check your mailbox’s spam or junk folder before contacting in case the order confirmation has been diverted there.

There is only a short amount of time between when you place your order and when we start processing it. If you contact us straight away after ordering, via telephone at 413-594-6460, we may be able to cancel your order before it’s processed. Please see our returns policy for more details.

Orders that require shipping within the U.S. will be typically are delivered within 1 to 6 business days. Most orders ship from our warehouse located in Chicopee, MA. Orders not requiring freight shipment will ship via Fedex. Freight shipments typically have a longer transit time than standard ground shipments.  Please get in touch if your order hasn’t been delivered according to the expected timescales, and we will check your order status.

We offer FREE Shipping on ALL orders over $99 with the following exceptions:

Yes, we will provide updates at every stage of your order, from the moment you place it, when it is shipped and delivery. In your delivery confirmation emails, you’ll receive a tracking reference which you can use to check the progress of your order online.

Eligible returns are accepted for products purchased within the last 30 days. You must call us to initiate a Return Authorization 800-820-6460.

You are responsible for return shipping costs.

Products MUST be in LIKE NEW Resalable condition.

You MUST have the ORIGINAL BOX and PACKAGING MATERIALS.

You MUST have all of the original accessories, manuals etc.

Your package should be INSURED for the FULL VALUE for your protection during return shipping.

Products that arrive not in original packaging, missing accessories, without a Return Authorization or damaged will be refused. Refunds are credited using the original payment method and they are usually credited within 10-15 business days upon receipt of your return.

Return & Exchange Limits
While we completely understand some products just don't fit the build or hit the mark we have a limit of 2 returns or exchanges per household in a 12 month period.

Order Cancellations
If your order has shipped, it cannot be cancelled. Once your order has left our warehouse it cannot be cancelled. If you would like to setup a return on this item please call us at 800-820-6460 and request a Return Authorization. Do not refuse your order as you will then be subject to shipping cost both ways.

If you wish to cancel an order placed during business hours, please contact us by phone by 3PM EDT on the same business day your order was placed. Any cancellation requests received after this time will be examined on a case-by-case basis. We offer no guarantee that your order will be able to be canceled after this time period. If your order is placed outside of business hours, you must contact us by 1PM EDT on the following business day. Again, cancellation requests submitted outside this time period are NOT guaranteed, and are examined case-by-case.

All shipping, processes and freight charges are non refundable.

Refused Shipments
Orders that are refused at the time of delivery are subject to the original and return shipping fees unless otherwise approved by Safe & Sound.

Items marked as FINAL SALE, USED TRADE-IN are nonreturnable

Vehicle specific Car Audio/Video products such as wire harnesses, dash kits, interfaces and other installed components are nonreturnable once opened. Vinyl Albums are non-returnable. Items such as phono cartridges, record brushes, alignment tools and cleaners are nonreturnable Special order, non stocking items are nonreturnable

In the rare event that your order arrives damaged or faulty, please take photos of the product in question and email our customer service team via orders@safeandsoundhq.com with the details. This applies for ALL orders including those marked as "Final Sale". We’ll respond within 48 hours.

Passive bookshelf speakers do. They require an external amplifier or AV receiver. Active or powered bookshelf speakers have built-in amplifiers and can connect directly to audio sources such as TVs, turntables, preamplifiers, and computers.

Passive speakers are unpowered and require an external amp or receiver. Powered or active bookshelf speakers have built-in amplification, often with Bluetooth or digital inputs. Powered speakers are more convenient while passive ones allow more customization.

When pairing an amplifier to a bookshelf speaker, it is important to consider the speakers sensitivity rating and impedance. If the speakers are 4ohm or less, it is critical that the amplifier can handle low impedance to ensure proper headroom without distortion. Higher current amps will handle 4 ohm speakers better. A speakers sensitivity rating determines how loud the speaker will play. A sensitivity rating 90 db or higher will be more efficient and play louder with the same wattage than a speaker with a sensitivity rating under 90 db.

Many bookshelf speakers produce excellent mid-range and treble, however due to their more compact size compared to floorstanding speakers, they typically lack deep bass. Adding a subwoofer will fill this void and the end result is a more fuller, balanced sound that is especially ideal for home theater applications and many music genres.

Front-ported speakers have a port located in the front of the speakers typically below the drivers. With this orientation, placement is less important and can be placed close to a wall. This option is especially ideal for desktop or wall-mounted setups. Rear-ported bookshelf speakers have a port behind the speaker and the low frequency sound is directed away and towards the wall. The advantage of a rear port is deeper, more extended bass that typically sounds more open and natural. The disadvantage is placement is not as flexible and it is recommended to place no closer than 12 inches from any walls. In many cases, bookshelf speakers will come with port bungs which help in diminishing unwanted boominess.
