There is a distinct nostalgia surrounding the golden era of hi-fi - the 70's. Back then, it wasn't just about the music, it was about the experience—tactile knobs, walnut veneer cases, and the warm, hypnotic glow of VU meters dancing along to the bassline.
We are thrilled to announce that NAD Electronics is tapping directly into that rich heritage with the arrival of two stunning new integrated amplifiers: the C 3030 and the C 3030S.
While their exteriors pay homage to NAD’s earliest designs, specifically the iconic 3030 model from 1974, do not be fooled by the retro casework. Under the hood, these amplifiers are packed with advanced, modern technology designed to drive today’s high-performance loudspeakers with precision and authority.
Here is a look at these exciting new additions to our 2-channel lineup, what they share, and the crucial difference between them.
Both the C 3030 and C 3030S share the same industrial design and core amplification platform. They are built for the audiophile who wants their system to look as good as it sounds.
Retro Aesthetics: The immediate draw is the front panel. Both units feature dual, illuminated VU meters that monitor output power, a feature enthusiasts have been begging for. Flanked by tactile rotary knobs for volume and source selection, these amps demand to be displayed, not hidden in a cabinet.
The Internals: Inside, NAD has deployed their proven HybridDigital™ UcD amplifier technology. This isn't warm, fuzzy vintage amplification; it’s highly efficient, remarkably low-distortion power that maintains a grip on speaker drivers for tight bass and transparent highs.
Key Shared Specifications:
Continuous Power: 60 Watts per channel into 8 and 4 Ohms.
Dynamic Power: Up to 120 Watts into 8 Ohms, providing plenty of headroom for musical peaks.
Vintage Inputs: A high-quality MM (Moving Magnet) phono stage for turntable enthusiasts.
Modern Inputs: Optical and Coaxial digital inputs, along with analog line-level inputs.
Outputs: Dedicated subwoofer output and a high-performance headphone amplifier jack on the front panel.
HDMI eARC: Easily connect your TV to integrate high-fidelity sound with your video.
If they share the same looks and the same power, which one is right for you? The difference comes down to how you listen to music in the modern age.
The standard C 3030 is a classic "just-the-amp" integrated solution. It is designed for the listener who already has their preferred sources sorted out.
If you have a beloved turntable, a high-end CD player, and perhaps an external standalone streamer (like a Bluesound NODE or a Sonos Port) that you already love, the C 3030 is the perfect engine for your system. It acts as the central hub, taking all your existing analog and digital sources and amplifying them with clean, dynamic power.
Unlike some of NAD’s other amplifiers that support modular BluOS upgrade cards (such as MDC/BluOS modules in the NAD C 3050 Integrated Amplifier), the C 3030 doesn’t have a modular slot or MDC interface. That means there’s no internal expansion path to install a BluOS module after purchase. If you want a built-in streaming option, this is where the C 3030S steps up to the plate.
The "S" stands for Streaming. The C 3030S takes the exact same amplifier platform and integrates the world’s premier high-resolution multi-room streaming platform right inside the chassis: BluOS.
By choosing the C 3030S, you don't need an external streaming box. You simply connect the amp to your Wi-Fi or Ethernet network and use the intuitive BluOS controller app on your phone or tablet.
Benefits of the C 3030S Model:
High-Res Audio: Stream lossless music up to 24-bit/192kHz from services like Tidal, Qobuz, and Amazon Music HD.
MQA Decoding: Full decoding and rendering for Tidal Master tracks.
Multi-Room Ready: Seamlessly group the C 3030S with other BluOS enabled speakers around your home for synchronized listening.
AirPlay 2 and Bluetooth aptX HD: Easy streaming for guests or quick listening sessions.
The NAD C 3030 and C 3030S prove that you don't have to choose between the nostalgic charm of vintage audio and the convenience and performance of modern technology.
Both models are available now. Contact us today to schedule a private audition and watch those VU meters dance.
