This assembly creates a highly ridged ultra-light platform, ideal for mounting advanced components whilst reducing resonance. Like the standard Planar 6, the RS Edition includes a custom matched Neo MK2 PSU, and a hand tuned low noise 24v motor which drives the aluminum sub platter. In addition, this is now driven via an upgraded CNC twin drive pulley and two Rega Reference EBLT drive belts for improved accuracy and speed control. Mounted specifically where the increased rigidity is required (between the tonearm mounting and the main hub bearing) this forms a structurally sound “stressed beam” assembly. This rigid plinth design prevents energy absorption and unwanted resonance, which will add unnatural distortions to the music. Equally, heavier mass can transfer more unwanted energy, such as motor or bearing noise directly into the rotating record. The new body is protected by a CAD designed, clear rigid cover that sheilds the internal fine wires, making handling whilst fitting safe, and risk free. The Ania features a super high-powered neodymium magnet, and a coil meticulously hand wound on to an iron micro cross.
